The Angel of Grief Art Medium Sized Cremation Urn holds 1/2 of an adults ashes and is perfect for sharing ashes with family members. The art is an incredible depiction of the weeping angel monument sculpture made in 1894 by William Wetmore Story, an American poet and sculpture, for his wife Evelyn. The inscription reads, “The bud was spread to show the rose our Savior smiled the bud was closed. Anon." His beautiful monument was placed in the Protestant Cemetery in Rome.
This beautiful mourning angel leans on the urn, mourning the loss of the loved one within. The angel sculpture is made of resin, and the urn is hand made and painted popular wood.
Since the art is not permanently attached to the urn base, many of our customers keep the art and wood urn together for a period of time. When the time comes, they place the urn base into a casket with a loved one that has passed or bury the urn base. Then the sculpture is kept as a family heirloom.
